“On behalf of the Commission, I am pleased to welcome Derek Folland as the new Director of Racing with the Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission”, stated Glen Rankin Chair of the Commission. “Mr. Folland brings vast experience from a lifetime involvement in the industry. As a former trainer and owner, and as a respected senior judge with the Commission, Derek has the attributes that the position demands”.

“I am looking forward to continuing my work with the industry, albeit in a different capacity,” stated Mr. Folland. “Communication and engagement with industry participants will be hallmarks of my leadership.”

Mr. Folland starts his new role on February 18, 2026.

The Commission wishes to thank outgoing Director of Racing Kyle Burton for his work and wishes him well in his future endeavors.
