Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission

The Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission (MPHRC) is an agency of the Council of Atlantic Premiers, entrusted with governing, regulating, and supervising harness racing across Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick. Our mandate extends to all aspects of the sport connected with pari-mutuel wagering, ensuring fairness, integrity, and the highest standards of conduct at every track under our jurisdiction.

Harness racing in the Maritimes has been unified under a regional commission since 1994, when the original organization was created. For more than three decades, the Commission has served as the central body guiding the growth, accountability, and integrity of the sport. Today, the MPHRC proudly continues its work as the sole regulatory authority for harness racing in the Maritimes. With six racetracks under our jurisdiction, we play a vital role in safeguarding the sport’s traditions while fostering a culture of transparency, consistency, and responsible wagering.

Our head office is located in Kensington, Prince Edward Island.
